PAT RANEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
(Hearing Impaired Students)
Est. 9/2003
The Pat Raney Memorial Scholarship is administered and awarded by the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation in honor of Pat Raney. Pat served as treasurer, secretary, president-elect, president and ex-officio of the TAPT from 1983 – 1988. She was the first woman to be elected president of the association.
Pat Raney began her career in pupil transportation in 1970 as a special needs driver for Dallas County Schools. In a career that spanned three decades, she rose to the position of director of one of the largest pupil transportation departments in Texas. Pat’s energetic, vivacious and positive attitude made her a natural leader and she never tired of serving others. Pat had a national impact in the pupil transportation industry during her three year term as a regional director for the National Association for Pupil Transportation.
The Pat Raney Memorial Scholarship has been established at the request and through the initial donation of the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Several of Pat’s friends in the supply side of the TAPT have added their donations to make this scholarship for hearing impaired students a reality.
