TAPT & Chalk's Truck Parts Vocational/Technical Scholarship Application

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The Texas Association for Pupil Transportation Vocational/Technical (Trade School) Scholarship is sponsored and administered by the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation. This scholarship is a reflection of the organization's continued commitment to the youth of the state and support or its membership.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance for a qualified applicant who will be entering a vocational/technical or trade school of higher learning. The applicant should have a sound academic record, be of good character and demonstrate financial need.

Amount of Scholarship There will be one $1,000.00 scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

To receive the scholarship, an applicant must:

1. Be a family member or any employee of the transportation department of any Texas school district (son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter).

2. Have a diploma, certificate of completion, or GED from a Texas accredited school.

3. Be eligible and applied for admission in a recognized educational, vocational/technical or trade school.

Selection Committee

The selection committee will be composed of the TAPT President or his designate and five (5) Area Directors of the Executive Committee.

Application Procedure

An applicant will be given consideration for a scholarship when all the following have been received by the TAPT Office, P.O. Box 996, Buchanan Dam, Texas 78609:

1. A completed application form

2. A transcript for all academic work, including class rank and the number in class, grade point average and college admission test scores (if applicable).

3. If applicable, copy of GED and transcript of high school course work completed.

4. A written statement from the applicants high school principal as to the applicant's attendance and personal character.

Operational Procedures The scholarship will be awarded at the TAPT State Conference in June. The scholarship is a one year scholarship and is to be used for educational opportunities.

Deadline Application and other required information must be completed and received by the TAPT Office, P.O. Box 996, Buchanan Dam, TX 78609 by APRIL 15th, of the current year. The recipient will be notified by May 15.
