Carol A Barnhart
Director of Transportation
Calallen ISD
I have been in public school transportation for 25 years and am the current Director of Transportation at Calallen ISD in Corpus Christi. I have had the opportunity to be a part of the Coastal Bend TAPT chapter since December of 2019. I have served as the Secretary, Historian, and am now the President Elect. Starting in North Texas as a bus driver, I worked my way up to Dispatcher and then Assistant Director at Denton ISD. I have experienced the challenges of working in both small and large districts, including shared Director of Grapevine Colleyville ISD and Southlake Carroll ISD, as well as Supervisor of Field Trips at Frisco ISD. I have previously been a member of Region XI and North Texas chapters of TAPT and have been an active member of TAPT since 2011. I was Chair of the Special Needs Regional Rodeo in North Texas and am now the Chair of the TAPT Special Needs Rodeo. I am a proud graduate of Texas Woman’s University, a mother to 3 adult children, and grandmother of 3 boys who believes that this organization plays a crucial role in the professional and personal development of each and every one of us.

I moved to the Coastal Bend area of South Texas when my husband, Ernest Del Bosque, had an opportunity to return to his hometown in Beeville. It is here that I have learned so much about a part of Texas that has deep roots and a proud heritage. The big state of Texas is colorful and diverse and I am excited to be a part of an area that is as passionate about education, student safety, and the community as we are in pupil transportation here in Area 5. I would love to take the torch and run with it for all districts as your Area Director here in the Coastal Bend and South Texas area.
