Leslie A Becker
Assistant Director of Transportation
Plano ISD
Hi! I’m Leslie Becker and I am running for the position of Area 2 Director. I am the Assistant Director in Plano ISD, and have been in the Transportation industry for 25 years. I live in Plano with my husband, Doug, and together we have 5 amazing, adult children. I enjoy cooking, playing games, spending time with my family and friends, and most recently, traveling, especially if it’s to a tropical location!

I started my journey in Transportation in 1998 with Frisco ISD. Like all of us, I started as a bus driver. In 2012, I accepted the position of Driver/Trainer. It was very fulfilling to train new drivers and coaches and see them be successful behind the wheel. In 2014 the position of Training Specialist came open and I was hired for that position, which I spent 2 years in before accepting the position of Operation Supervisor over the general ed routes. I served as the Operations Supervisor in Frisco ISD for six years. My next move was to Garland ISD in March 2021, as the Operations Supervisor with concentration on routing. I spent 15 months in that role when the position of Assistant Director in Plano ISD became available. I jumped at the chance to advance in my career and to be much closer to home. I started as the Assistant Director with Plano in July of 2022, and I have loved every minute (mostly) of this new role, the new responsibilities, learning opportunities, and most of all the new friendships I have formed.

I have been an active member with NTAPT as well as TAPT since 2014. I have served on the Regional Road-eo committee for several years, and have volunteered as a judge since 2012. This event is one of my favorites as well as one of the most rewarding. When you see the hard work and dedication that the contestants put in, and you see friendships formed, it is a wonderful day! I also chaired the state bowling tournament between 2017 and 2019.

It would be an honor to serve on the Executive Committee, and to promote TAPT and their mission to the school districts I would be serving as Area 2 Director.

Thank you,

Leslie A. Becker
