Patricia Ducote
Assistant Director of Transportation
Goose Creek CISD
My name is Patricia Ducote, and I am running for the office of President for the 2022-23 school year. TAPT is a great organization that provides professional development, certification programs, collaboration and support for EVERY school district staff in the State of Texas, regardless of title. TAPT promotes safe and efficient pupil transportation; encourages the exchange of ideas and cooperation between transportation departments across the state; and works to improve pupil transportation policies, standards, and equipment locally, statewide, and nationally.

As the Assistant Director of Transportation at Goose Creek CISD, I work alongside my director to ensure that we are building and maintaining a succession plan for our department. We continue to educate, inspire, mentor, and grow our own staff, and prepare them for the potential opportunity to step into our seats when the time comes. Together we will continue to inspire, motivate, and encourage our staff and all individuals to utilize TAPT as a tool to grow within this industry and become great leaders, so that one day they can turn around and take the same guidance and inspire, motivate, and encourage others to do the same. By doing so, we will continue our mission to improve the pupil transportation industry within our organization for our future.
Many of you know my journey and how it began as a school bus driver and the challenges I faced. I can wholeheartedly say that TAPT and its leadership (past and present) has been there every step of the way.  I can’t help but to express that the mentors and leaders I have met, and the networking opportunities TAPT created, has helped me get to where I am today, and it will continue to help me get to where I am headed. With my desire and drive to achieve excellence within the pupil transportation industry, I continue to grow professionally and personally.
I am a mother of 4 beautiful girls, Cassidy, Mallorie, Natalie and Emma, and this year I can say I am married to my best friend Danny. I am sure my family gets a bit annoyed when all I do is talk about student transportation and school buses, however, I can’t help it. It sure is a great feeling when we are on a road trip and the kids spot a school bus and the first thing they yell out is “look mom, a school bus!” During our free time Danny and I enjoy fishing and the salty sea. As a family we enjoy spending time together, and our most favorite pastime is family movie night.
It will be an honor and privilege to serve as your 2022-2023 TAPT President. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support and the opportunity to make a positive impact for our future.
