Anthony Sims began his 10- year career in Pupil Transportation in 2012 as a bus driver for Dallas County Schools. In 2016, Sims became a Nights and Weekend Dispatcher as well as an Extracurricular Coordinator. He accepted the role of Transportation Supervisor for Lancaster ISD in 2018 and in Summer 2021, answered the call to become the Director of Transportation for Midland ISD.
Anthony has been actively involved with TAPT since 2016 and is currently President for the West Texas APT. In 2021, he earned his Transportation Officials Certification and is currently an active Instructor for TAPT Professional Development courses.
Sims absolutely loves his career and what TAPT accomplishes year after year stating,
“What this organization has done for me both professionally and personally, I owe so much that I never mind assisting them in any way I can”.
His passion for transportation coupled with his 10 years of experience, will allow him to serve not only TAPT but the members and the State of Texas as Historian for the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation.
