Aric Taylor
Assistant Director of Transportation
Conroe ISD
I started my transportation career as a school bus routing software vendor. Traveling the country and working with transportation professionals all over the nation including several here in Texas, I fell in love School Bus Transportation and Texas, and decided to make it my life’s work in 2001 when I accepted the position as Routing Manager for Houston ISD.

At Houston, I learned the phrase that seems to be universal in our industry, “Never say never…”. Once safely in Texas, I was blessed to meet and be influenced by many of the state’s transportation leaders. Several encouraged me to become involved in TAPT. I received my Officials Certification (#565) in 2002, and am an instructor for several PDC courses. I always look forward to teaching because of the wonderful people I get to meet and learn from.

In 2012 I accepted the position of Assistant Director of Transportation for the Conroe Independent School District, and now am responsible for the operations of a center with 150 employees and 18 campuses. My pride and joy is my 17 year old and High School Senior daughter Amanda.

I have had the privilege to serve on the TAPT Executive Committee as Parliamentarian 2014-2015, as Area 3 Director 2016-2018, and Secretary for 2018-2019. As the conference shifts back to the Houston area, and the Woodlands, I look forward to the opportunity to use my energies to the position of President-Elect to help make that conference and this organization the best it can be.
